Overview

The University of EvansvilleThe university, also known as UE, is located in Evansville, Indiana, United States. It was established in 1854 as the Moores Hill Male and Female Collegiate Institute. It was founded by John Moore. At that time, the institute was located in the small town of Moores Hill, Indiana. The first classes were held on September 9, 1856. The name was changed to Moores Hill College in 1887. It was relocated to its present location in 1919 and was renamed to Evansville College. In 1967, it became the University of Evansville. The university campus covers approximately 100 acres in Evansville. UE is divided into the following academic schools and colleges:

There are several active sororities and fraternities at UE including Alpha Omicron Pi, Delta Sigma Theta, Chi Omega, Zeta Tau Alpha, Delta Omega Zeta, Phi Mu, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Phi Gamma Delta, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Phi Kappa Tau.
