Overview
The University of Idaho, also known as UI or U of I, was established on January 30, 1889. It is the oldest public university of Idaho. The first class was held on October 3, 1892, with 40 students. The main campus sits on more than 1500 acres in Moscow, Idaho, and features approximately 253 buildings. UI offers over 140 degree programs and several other certificate programs in approximately 30 areas of study. The academic units of UI are divided into the following colleges:

Some of the Greek Life Organizations of UI are Lambda Theta Alpha, Omega Delta Phi, Sigma Chi, Phi Mu Alpha, Sigma Lambda Gamm, and Sigma Alpha. In addition, the university has many student clubs including the Food Science Club, Ballroom Dance Club, The Chess Club, Amnesty International, Special Olympics Buddies Club, International Student Council, and Black Student Union.

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Western Athletic Conference for major sports.
