Overview
University of Judaism, presently known as the American Jewish University, is located in Los Angeles, California. Also known as AJU, it was established in 1947. Dr. Mordecai Kaplan, the spiritual founder of the university, was a Jewish thinker and philosopher. The University of Judaism merged with the Brandeis - Bardin Institute in March 2007 and became the American Jewish University. AJU offers an array of degrees and certificate programs through the following schools :

- Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies
AJU is home to several student organizations such as the Bio - Ethics Association, the Psychology Association, the Political Science Association, tIsrael Action, the Sports Club, ASAJU Student Government, and Tikkun Olam. Students can take advantage of financial aid at AJU in the form of the Dean’s Scholarship, the President’s Scholarship, the AJU/JVS Scholarship, loans and grants.
