Overview

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, also known as UMHB, is located in Belton, Texas, United States. It was established in 1845. At that time, it was the female counterpart of Baylor University. The first classes were held in 1846 with only 24 students. It became the Mary Hardin-Baylor College in 1934. The college became fully coeducational in 1971 and was recognized as a university in 1978. The campus of UMHB sits upon more than 150 acres of land in Belton. The university offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study and is divided into the following academic divisions:
