Overview
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, also known as UMES, was established in 1886. It was originally created as the Delaware Conference Academy. After several name and status changes, it was given its present name and status in 1970. Part of the Public University System of Maryland, UMES, is located in Princess Anne, Maryland. The college boasts an enrollment of over 3,500 students. The campus of UMES occupies an area of more than 700 acres and the university is organized into the following academic schools and colleges:
