University Of Medicine And Dentistry Of New Jersey

The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey is a co-educational, public, state-run health sciences institution with a number of campuses in New Brunswick, Newark, Stratford, Camden, Piscataway and Scotch Plains, New Jersey. The university was established in 1970. UMDNJ's campus is spread over more than 180 acres of urban and suburban land. It enrolls around 5,000 students every year.

The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey is comprised of eight distinct academic units:

  • Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
  • School of Health Related Professions
  • School of Nursing
  • School of Osteopathic Medicine

The university has a modern palliative care facility for assisting people with AIDS. The University Hospital in Newark is also operated by UMDNJ. Affiliates of UMDNJ include Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, and Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
