Overview

The University of Michigan–Dearborn, commonly referred to as U of M–Dearborn, was established in 1959 and is part of the University of Michigan system. The main campus encompasses more than 190 acres in Dearborn, Michigan. In fact, the Ford Motor Company gifted this land to establish this university. The campus also includes a nature preserve and the Rouge River Bird Observatory. The academic units of U of M–Dearborn are organized into the following colleges:

  • College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters
  • College of Engineering and Computer Science
  • School of Education
  • School of Management

There is an active Greek life at U of M–Dearborn. Some of the fraternities and sororities are Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Phi Epsilon, Phi Mu, Alpha Phi Alpha, Phi Sigma Phi, Delta Sigma Phi, Theta Tau, and Tau Kappa Epsilon.

U of M–Dearborn offers several scholarships including the Dean’s Scholarship, Maize and Blue Scholarship, Chancellor’s Scholarship, and many more.
