Overview

The University of Michigan–Flint was established in 1956 as Flint College. In its first year, 167 junior students were enrolled here. It became a university in 1971. UMF is spread across an area of more than 70 acres in Flint, Michigan. The Princeton Review has included the university in the "Best in the Midwest" category of 2009 Best Colleges. UMF is divided into the following academic schools and colleges:

  • School of Management

UMF has many different fraternities and sororities, including Alpha Phi Alpha, Omega Psi Phi, Kappa Sigma, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Theta Chi, Zeta Phi Beta, Delta Sigma Theta, Phi Sigma Sigma and Beta Sigma Phi. There are other student clubs and organizations such as the Association for Computing Machinery, the Radiation Therapy Organization, Business Club, International Student Organization, Michigan Poetry Society, Students Defending Christian Principles, and many more.
