University Of Missouri-Columbia

The University of Missouri is a public, co-educational research university located in Columbia, Missouri. It was originally established in 1839 and in 1963, with the creation of the University of Missouri System, the university was renamed the University of Missouri–Columbia. In 2007, the name was changed back to the University of Missouri.

The sports teams of the University of Missouri are known as the Tigers. Truman the Tiger is the official mascot.

Famous alumni of the institution are Samuel Moore Walton, founder of Wal-Mart; and singer Sheryl Crow.
