The University of Nebraska at Omaha is a coeducational, public university located in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. In 1908, it was established as Omaha University. In 1931, it became Municipal University of Omaha. In 1968, it received its present moniker following a merger into the University of Nebraska system. The University, with its associated buildings, stretches across more than 150 acres of urban land.

The University's sports teams are called the Mavericks. The official mascot is a bull named Durango. The University sponsors baseball, basketball, football, hockey, wrestling, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track, and volleyball.
Notable alumni of the University include Chuck Hagel, U.S. Senator; James J. Lindsay, United States Army General; and James R. Young, Chairman and President of Union Pacific Railroad.
