Overview

The University of North Carolina Asheville, also known as UNC Asheville or UNCA, is a coeducational, four-year, public, liberal arts university located in Asheville, North Carolina, United States. It was established in 1927. The campus spreads across an area of more than 250 acres. UNCA has more than 35 academic departments that offer four-year undergraduate programs leading to Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Bachelor of Science degrees in specific majors.

UNC has an active Greek life with several fraternities and sororities. The campus is home to a wide variety of clubs and organizations including the Active Students for a Healthy Environment (ASHE), Accountancy Association, and Asian Students in Asheville (ASIA). UNCA's athletics teams are nicknamed the Bulldogs.
