The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, also known as UNC, is a public research university located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It was established on December 11, 1789 and today its campus covers an area of 729 acres. The university is the oldest in the University of North Carolina system. Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Atlantic Coast Conference for major sports.
