Overview

University of North Florida, or UNF, was established in 1969 as a "senior" college. At present, the university is part of the State University System of Florida. The university opened in the Fall of 1972 with 2,027 students and 117 faculty members. The campus of UNF encompasses more than 1200 acres in Jacksonville, Florida, and has approximately twenty-eight major buildings. The academic units of the university are organized into the following colleges:

  • Brooks College of Health

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Computing, Engineering and Construction (CCEC)
  • College of Education and Human Services

UNF has a very active Greek life which is the largest student organization on campus. Some of the Greek Organizations are Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Order, Kappa Sigma, Phi Beta Sigma, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta, and Sigma Gamma Rho.

Athletics

The school is in the Atlantic Sun Conference for major sports.
