Overview

University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, also known as Pitt-Greensburg or UPG, is located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in September 1963. In its first year, the university enrolled 56 full-time students and had 15 faculty members. Al Smith was the university's first president. In 1988, the institute received a four-year, degree-granting status. It is beautifully nestled in an area of more than 215 acres in Greensburg and has approximately 22 buildings. UPG offers over 20 bachelor degree programs and more than 15 minors in diverse areas of study.

UPG has several student organizations such as the Archaeology Society, Alpha Phi Sigma, Brothers And Sisters in Christ, Circle K International, Chi Alpha Sigma, Environmental Club, Gamma Sigma Epsilon, Delta Psi Omega, Outdoor Adventure and Community Service Club, and many more.

UPG is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III and competes in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. Their sports teams compete in basketball, softball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, golf, baseball, and cross country.
