Overview

University of Rio Grande is located in Rio Grande, Ohio, United States. Officially, the university opened its doors to students in the year 1876. It was then known as Rio Grande College. It was granted university status in 1989. The university's two degree-granting colleges are:

  • College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
  • College of Professional Studies

The university's campus is home to several Greek fraternities and sororities including Alpha Mu Beta, Delta Theta, Lambda Omicron Psi, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Alpha Sigma Phi, and Chi Omega Alpha. Some of the student clubs and organizations are the Marketing Club, LIGHT, SEARCH, and Accounting Association. Students publish an on-campus, bi-weekly newspaper called "SIGNALS."
