Overview

The University of Scranton is a private, co-educational Jesuit university, situated in Scranton, PA. It was established in 1888 by Rev. William O'Hara, the first Bishop of Scranton. The university is a member institution of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The University of Scranton's campus is spread over an area of more than 50 acres. It offers a number of degrees and certificates, and is comprised of the following academic units:

The university’s athletic teams take part in the NCAA's Division III and participate in more than 15 varsity sports.
