Overview

University of Sioux Falls, also referred to as USF, is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States. It was founded in 1883 as the Dakota Collegiate Institute. The first classes began on September 8, 1883. It gained university status in 1885 and adopted its present name. USF offers over 25 undergraduate majors, approximately 5 associate degree programs, and several other pre-professional programs.

There are many student organizations and clubs at USF including the Exercise Science Club, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Campus Crusade for Christ, Sigma Tau Delta Society, Association of Cougar Education Students, Flying Club, Phi Alpha Honor Society in Social Work, Alpha Psi Omega, USF Democrats, Science Club, Law and Justice Club, Students in Free Enterprise, and Chess Club.

USF is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and competes in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Their sports teams are called The Cougars.
