Overview

University of South Carolina Upstate, formerly known as University of South Carolina Spartanburg, was founded in 1967, and is a public college situated in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The university was given its present name in summer of 2004.

The college campus consists of nearly 328 acres. USC Upstate has a present enrollment of approximately 5,000 students and is divided into the following academic schools and colleges:

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • Mary Black School of Nursing
  • School of Business Administration and Economics
  • School of Education

University of South Carolina Upstate hosts a number of student clubs and organizations. The college also has an active Greek life, and is home to numerous fraternities and sororities including Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, and Delta Sigma Theta.

Athletics
