Overview
University of Washington Tacoma, also referred to as UWT or UW Tacoma, was established in 1990. Located in Tacoma, Washington, Tacoma and Bothell were chosen as branch campus sites after the Higher Education Coordination Board’s suggested opening branch campuses in 1986. The University of Washington Tacoma offers degrees in the fields of business, environmental science, nursing, urban studies, and interdisciplinary arts and sciences.
Associated Students of the University of Washington Tacoma, ASUWT, represents the students of the Tacoma campus. The students are active in clubs and organizations such as the Black Student Union, the American Civil Liberties Union Student Chapter, the Korean American International Student Team, the Student Social Work Organization, the Marketing Society, and the Association of Student Accountants.
