The University of Wisconsin-Superior, also known as UW-Superior or UWS or Superior, is a public university located in Superior, Wisconsin, United States. UW-Superior was originally established as Superior Normal School by Wisconsin legislators in 1893. It became part of the University of Wisconsin System in 1971. The university grants bachelor, master, and specialist degrees in diverse areas of study.

UW-Superior boasts of an active student life. The campus is home to several recognized student clubs and organizations. Some of them are the American Marketing Association, American Chemical Society, and Amateur Radio Club. The athletics department of the university fields several men’s and women’s spots teams. Their official mascot is Buzz, the Yellowjacket.
