Overview

Urbana University is located in Urbana, Ohio, United States. It was established in the year 1850 by the followers of Emanuel Swedenborg, an 18th century Swedish philosopher and scientist. In addition to Oberlin College, this was Ohio’s second higher learning institution to admit women. The campus occupies an area of more than 120 acres. Degrees are offered in diverse fields of study including business communications, mathematics, and communication arts. The university's four colleges are:

Some of the Greek honor societies in the university are Alpha Psi Omega, Phi Alpha Theta, Sigma Beta Delta, Kappa Delta Pi, and Lambda Pi Eta. Urbana University is home to many student clubs and organizations including the Sports Medicine Association, Science Club, Student Government Association, Colleges Against Cancer, and Commuter Club.
