Overview
Vermont Law School, VLS, is a private, law school, in South Royalton, Vermont that was founded in 1973. It began with 113 students and became a part of the Association of American Law Schools in 1981. VLS’s campus is comprised of 19 buildings and is spread across 13 acres. The school offers 5 degree programs which are Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Law in Environmental Law (LLM), Master of Environmental Law and Policy (MELP), the LLM in American Legal Studies (for international students), and Joint JD and MELP.
The students of Vermont Law School publishes 2 legal journals, the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law and the Vermont Law Review several times a year. The school features over 40 campus groups including Law Students for Reproductive Justice, Students for Community Outreach and Education, Jewish Law Students Association, and Secular Law Student Association.
VLS has the Julien and Virginia Cornell Library which has a collection of more than 230,000 volumes and roughly 2,300 periodical and serial titles.
