Overview

Vincennes University, also known as VU, is a public university located in Vincennes, Indiana, United States. It was established in 1801 as Jefferson Academy. VU is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Indiana. It gained the status of university in 1889. Vincennes University offers a varied set of majors that are focused on careers in teaching and industry. Vincennes University is organized into the following academic divisions:

VU is a member of the NJCAA. Their sports teams are known as the Trailblazers. They compete in various sports including baseball, bowling, golf, basketball, cross country, tennis, and volleyball. The university’s bowling team is well known as it has won more than 20 NJCAA national championships.
