Overview

Virginia Highlands Community College, also referred to as VHCC, is located in Abingdon, Virginia, United States. It was established in the year 1967 and is among 23 schools under the Virginia Community College System. The campus spreads over an area of approximately 100 acres. Students are offered degree programs in the fields of arts and education, health, engineering and industrial technology, science and horticulture, and business and information technology.

Virginia Highlands Community College supports a large number of student clubs and organizations. Among them are the societies of Phi Theta Kappa, Young Republicans, Natural History Society, Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), Rotaract Club, and Law Enforcement Club. Students also participate in a wide variety of sports such as volleyball, flag football, softball, basketball, and ultimate frisbee.
