Virginia University of Lynchburg is a private university located in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Virginia Baptist State Convention established the university in 1886 as the Lynchburg Baptist Seminary. It came to be known by its current name in 1996. Students are offered certificate and associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs in various subjects. A master’s and doctoral degree program in religious studies is also available. The academic divisions of the university are:
