Overview

Virginia Western Community College, also known as VWCC, is a two-year college located in the Franklin-Colonial neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia, United States. It is the third largest college in the Virginia Community College System. The college was chartered in 1966. VWCC offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

VWCC enrolls more than 8,000 students. The racial make up of the student body is 86% White, 9% Black or African American, and 5% from other races. There are many student clubs and organizations on campus including the Anime Club, Black Student Organization, and Fitness Club. There is also an International club that assists foreign students with admission into the college.
