Overview

Volunteer State Community College is a public-supported two-year community college located in Gallatin, Tennessee. It was established in 1971 and is presently controlled by the Tennessee Board of Regents. The college offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

VSCC has a student-run newspaper, The Settler, and an award-winning student magazine, The Pioneer. WVCP is the radio station operated by the college. The campus is home to several student clubs and organizations. Some of them are Creative Writer’s Association, Phi Theta Kappa and Delta Psi Omega. Vol State fields various men’s and women’s sports teams, nicknamed the Pioneers. It is a member of the Western Division of the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association.
