Overview

Wake Forest University was founded on February 3, 1834 as Wake Forest Manual Labor Institute. It was renamed Wake Forest College in 1839 and gained university status in 1967. The main campus is spread across an area of more than 300 acres in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The university has produced 11 Rhodes Scholars since 1986. Wake Forest University is divided into the following academic units:

  • Wake Forest Divinity School

There are several active fraternities and sororities at Wake Forest University. Some of these Greek Organizations here are Delta Kappa Epsilon, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Omega Psi Phi and Phi Beta Sigma. In addition, there are several other student organizations on campus, such as the Student Global Aids Society, the Black Student Alliance, Wake International Student Association and the Chinese Student and Scholar Association.
