Overview
Wake Technical Community College was established on April 3, 1958. Initially it was named Wake County Industrial Education Center and opened on October 7, 1963, with 304 students. On December 1, 1987, it was renamed to Wake Technical Community College or Wake Tech. It is part of the North Carolina Community College System and is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Wake Tech also has three additional campuses and an adult education center. The academic departments of Wake Tech are as follows:

Wake Tech has a large number of student organizations and clubs including the Computer Club, Wake Tech Student Ambassadors, Dental Hygienists Association, Future Designers Association of Wake Tech, Clinical Laboratory Science Student Association, Sigma Delta Mu, Association of Nursing Students, Student Game Development Club, Criminal Justice Club, and many more.
