Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa was established in 1903 by Reverend C. S. Salveson. It is a four year liberal arts college. Waldorf College offers graduate programs of study in areas such as biology, business, communications, creative writing, education, humanities and history. The college also offers inter disciplinary courses on theater arts, psychology and music. The college has facilities for adult degree programs and undergraduate research facilities. The Biology department of the college is nationally acknowledged for its excellence and is conducting research on Microbial Genome Annotation on behalf of US Department of Energy’s Joint Genome Institute.
Waldorf College has an active Greek life consisting of Alpha Chi society. The college also has a number of student clubs such as Waldorf Historia-The History Club, Ski Club, Golf Culture Club, and Student Government Association. The college also has a student run broadcast service such as Wal-TV and KZOW FM.
