Overview

Washington State Community College (WSCC) is a public, two-year community college that was founded in 1971 as Washington Technical College. The college moved to its current location in Marietta, Ohio in 1991. Most of the student body is from Ohio; however, since the college is located on the Ohio and West Virginia border it also has a significant number of students, about 10%, from West Virginia.

The college highlights its dual enrollment program (known as the Post Secondary Enrollment Options or PSEO) that leads to several hundred high school students being admitted to the college each year. WSCC has agreements with several higher education institutions to facilitate the transfering of students or the completion of a bachelor's degree through classes at WSCC and other institutions online.
