Overview

Wayne County Community College, or WCCCD, was established in 1967 by the Legislature of the State of Michigan. Apart from its Detroit campus, WCCCD also has campuses in Taylor and Van Buren Township in Michigan. The college offers several degree and certificate programs and is divided into numerous academic departments including computer information systems, digital media production, hotel and restaurant management, and surgical technology.

WCCCD offers various scholarship programs including the Bishop David Ellis Academic Scholarship, Dental Hygiene Scholarship, Humanities and Social Sciences Merit Scholarship, Phi Theta Kappa “John Bowker” Scholarship Award, Westinghouse Data Net Scholarshi, and many more.

The Student Government Association is the representative body of WCCCD students. In addition, the college has many students clubs and organizations including the International Student Organization, Black Students' Union, and Dental Hygiene Association.
