West Chester University of Pennsylvania, or WCUPA, is a public university located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1871. It gained university status on July 1, 1983. Today, WCUPA is one of 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). West Chester is ranked by US News & World Report as number 56 among the Universities–Master's (North).
