Overview
West Texas A And M University is a public university located in Canyon, Texas. It was established in 1910 as West Texas State Normal College. It is a member of the Texas A&M University System. The university enrolls more than 7,000 students every term. The campus consists of over 40 buildings, spread across an area of more than 130 acres. The campus is home to the Cornette Library and the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. WTAMU offers more than 50 bachelors and 40 masters degrees in diverse areas of study.
WTAMU’s enrolls over 2% international students every year, representing over 35 countries.
WTAMU is a member of the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference. It sponsors over 10 men's and women's programs. Its sports teams are nicknamed the Buffaloes.
