Overview
Wharton County Junior College was founded in 1944 and began its first session two years later. Though its primary campus is in Wharton, Texas, the college also has campuses in Bay City, Richmond and Sugarland. Wharton County Junior College is a community college that provides a wide variety of postsecondary educational programs like certificates, associate degrees and continuing education courses.
Apart from the branch campuses, the college also offers classes in Palacios, Bay City and El Campo. The Bay City campus occupies an area of 20,000 square feet, and additionally offers power technology and process technology programs. College sports teams include baseball for men and volleyball for women.
