Overview

Whitworth Universitiy is situated in Spokane, Washington, United States. It was founded in the year 1883 by George Whitworth and was originally called Summer Academy. It was known as Whitworth College until 2007, when it became a university. The campus occupies more than 200 acres of land. Students can avail of degree programs in various areas of study including accounting, journalism and mass communication, nursing, information technology, and visual communication.

Students of Whitworth University have access to a variety of clubs and organizations. These include the Catholic Fellowship, Black Student Union, International Justice Mission, Young Democrats, College Republicans, and Karate-do Club. The university's students also compete in sports such as basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, swimming, cross country, football, tennis, volleyball, track and field, and golf.
