Overview
William Jewell College is located in Liberty, Missouri, United States. It was founded in the year 1849. The members of the Missouri Baptist Convention and other civic leaders played a vital role in its establishment. The college was named in honor of Dr. William Jewell, who donated a large amount of money to start the college. Students are offered degrees and certificates in various areas of study including biochemistry, business administration, elementary education, organizational communication, and computer information systems.
The active Greek life is evident through the various Greek fraternities and sororities including Alpha Gamma Delta, Lambda Chi Alpha, Zeta Tau Alpha, Sigma Nu, and Alpha Delta Pi. William Jewell College is also home to a number of student clubs and organizations such as the International Relations Club, Young Democrats, Students in Free Enterprise, Jewell Homies, and William Jewell College Catholic Fellowship.
