Harper College

Harper College was founded in 1965 and was named after Dr. William Rainey Harper, first president of the University of Chicago. The first class was held in 1967. This two-yea, community college is located in Palatine, Illinois, and offers several degree and certificate programs.

Some of the academic departments of Harper College are business administration, computer information systems, emergency management systems, and law enforcement and justice administration. The scholarship programs of Harper College include the Academic and Leadership Scholarships, Foundation Scholarships for Harper Students, and James J. McGrath Humanities Scholarship.

Harper College has many student organizations including the Astronomy Club, American Sign Language Club, Harper Association of Mathematics, Black Student Union, Kappa Beta Delta, Harper College Chapter of the SCI FI Fantasy and Gaming Club, and International Students' Club.
