Overview
Wilmington University was known as Wilmington College until 2007, when it gained university status after approval by the Board of Trustees and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
The university is a private, nonsectarian institution with a main campus near the City of Wilmington and New Castle, Delaware. and several additional sites. Wilmington University also offers programs at three colleges and a few other locations in New Jersey.
The university offers associates degrees, bachelors degrees, masters degree and doctors degree in diverse areas of study.
Also available are Hybrid, Accelerated Hybrid and 100 percent-online options to earn course credit. Online delivery is the newest addition to distance learning technology. Online courses give students the opportunity to take classes from anywhere they can access the Web.
Wilmington University's campus is home to several clubs and organizations. The academic calendar of the university is based on the trimester system.
Wilmington University is in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for major sports.
