"There are some things I would have changed about my experience, but for the most part I can't complain about it too much. The classes I took there have allowed me to be where I am now so, I'm pretty satisfied with that."

| Would Recommend? | yes | I think that overall the accounting department is reputable and an excellent place to learn accounting skills. They also have resources for getting a job when you are done with school. |
| Program Reputation | 8 | Many of the people I work with attended the same school and did the same major. They all liked their time there and think the program is reputable. |
| Program Quality | 8 | I had a few classes in which I felt like the teachers didn't care about the students and their understanding of the subject matter. But overall, my experience there was good. |
| Instruction | 8 | I think some accounting topics are hard to understand in a classroom setting. Some of the auditing and tax topics were easier learned once I was at my job. |
| How Difficult | 6 | I feel like the classes I took were a good mix. Some were really hard and some were really easy but if you averaged them all together, they were probably close to the middle. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | I think it's hard to teach accounting in a hands-on way. We did a lot of reading and working problems from the book. I did do some case studies and research projects but not very many. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 8 | They have a lot of options as far as evening and summer classes. I wish they had offered more online classes because I had to travel to Wichita from my home and doing some online work would have been nice. |
| Academic Facilities | 7 | The accessibility of some professors was not so good. I had a couple who didn't really want to help the students. The other facilities were great. They have a nice library and almost all classrooms have a computer in them. Tutors and study groups were also prevalent. |
| Social Life | 4 | Because WSU has a lot of students who do continuing education in the evenings, a lot of people are not interested in socializing. I did only night classes there because I worked and I never felt like I fit in. I saw ads for campus events. |
| Placement Services | 7 | They have a good online program where employers can post jobs. They also have on campus interviews with potential employers. They also had networking times with employers in the Wichita area. |
| Alumni Network | 5 | I'd say only average because I don't think I've really got any alumni information from them. I'm sure if I took the time to look into it there would be something available. |

"I loved my time in school. It was the second best time of my life (the first being the birth of my daughter). I learned a lot and got a good job, but also managed to have the time of my life while there. A time I will never forget, and friends I still am connected with."

| Would Recommend? | yes | K-State is a great value. You will get a huge return on your investment, and it will provide you with a wonderful education and a wonderful experience. |
| Program Reputation | 5 | It's a state university. There are certainly more prestigious institutions, but few that provide the value K-State provides. It's certainly more prestigious than many of the smaller schools in the states of Kansas and Missouri. |
| Program Quality | 6 | There are more prestigious institutions. But there are few that provide the value of a major Div 1-A university that K-State provides. |
| Instruction | 7 | There were several highly accredited instructors sponsored by the Big CPA firms like Arthur Andersen (at the time) and PriceWaterhouse. I usually enjoyed my instruction. |
| How Difficult | 6 | I lived in a dorm with many Engineers, so I know how difficult and heavy the workload can be. Of course, I also lived with some others in easier programs that didn't have as heavy of a workload. It was just about average. I had time to enjoy my college life, which was a big part of the experience. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | We still had a textbook for nearly every class, except the final class, Accounting Research, which required a lot of studying and research. It was applied accounting, as we had learned by then everything about debits, credits, depreciation, not-for-profit, etc. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 5 | I was a traditional student, so the schedule was fairly irrelevant. But I didn't like early morning classes, and there were usually later classes available for me. |
| Academic Facilities | 8 | I had great advisors who always steered me in the right direction and kept me on the path. We also had beautiful new computer labs in Calvin Hall (Department of Business Administration). The library served its purpose, but wasn't much to speak of. Since graduation, they have completely renovated and expanded it, and I would assume it has greatly improved. |
| Social Life | 10 | Kansas State is a school not only to learn in, but to experience and grow in. I was very involved in Student Senate, ARH, Marching Band, and College Republicans. The football program was outstanding, and the basketball program, while down at the time, is steeped in rich winning tradition and is a top 25 program again. Aggieville is a wonderful place to spend the weekend when not studying. |
| Placement Services | Honestly, I haven't had to use it. Any opinion I give would unfortunately be misinformed. | |
| Alumni Network | 10 | KSU is #1 in the Big XII Conference for alums that are members of the Association. They provide benefits for new grads who are still job hunting. I haven't had to use them for a long time as I've been employed at my current job for 10 years, so I would assume it is still excellent. |

"Considering the location and cost of tuition, I feel very satisfied with my education experience. It is possible I could have had better experiences at other universities, but the additional tuition would not have been justified."

| Would Recommend? | yes | I found a job fairly quickly after graduation. I work with others who attended other, more expensive universities and do not feel at a disadvantage. |
| Program Reputation | 8 | At least in the Midwest, Washburn is well known for their business school credentials. I feel lucky to have earned a degree from there. |
| Program Quality | 7 | If I could go back, I would have gone to a larger university. Based on the tuition compared to other schools, I feel I received I very good education. |
| Instruction | 9 | All instructors seemed very knowledgeable and personable. The student to faculty ratio was small, which I prefer. |
| How Difficult | 4 | I never felt overwhelmed by the work load. I assumed attaining my degree would have been more difficult than it was. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | I feel I learned a lot by reading and a lot by real-world applications. This was a good mix which helped keep the material interesting. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 10 | Washburn offers a large array of night, day, weekend, and on-line classes. I was also able to take summer courses to get caught up after I changed majors. |
| Academic Facilities | 8 | Considering how small the campus is relative to other universities, Washburn offered all the facilities I needed and more. Professors were always available during their office hours, and the library stayed open 24-hours during finals week, which was helpful. |
| Social Life | 7 | Washburn did not have the sports following that I would have enjoyed at a larger university. However, the fraternities and sororities were very involved in school spirit/athletic events. |
| Placement Services | 5 | I used career services two times and received conflicting advice regarding my resume. I did not receive any assistance from them regarding finding a position after graduation. |
| Alumni Network | 7 | This rating is based on an assumption. I do not currently donate to the Alumni association, but I do know they are very involved and dedicated to their cause. |
