"I had supportive professors, excellent advisors, and a thorough education. I attended a school with excellent athletics and plenty of social events."

| Would Recommend? | yes | 100% job placement is the number one reason I chose accounting. The atmosphere is why I chose Ole Miss. |
| Program Reputation | 10 | We have a top ranking public university School of Accountancy. Well respected alumni hold partner positions at every Big 4 firm in offices across the country. |
| Program Quality | 10 | The University of Mississippi has a top ranked School of Accountancy. The professors are knowledgeable and interesting, and the school has an excellent internship program for seniors. |
| Instruction | 10 | The class sizes are small and very hands-on. The instructors are excellent and take a personal interest in the job placement of graduates. |
| How Difficult | 8 | Classes were challenging and intense. Students were expected to maintain above average GPAs to remain in the professional program and obtain internships. All four Big 4 firms hire extensively out of our program because graduates are always well-prepared. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | In cost accounting, we frequently did manufacturing models to find the most efficient method for manufacturing widgets. We also did hands-on work in tax classes by preparing tax returns by hand, something you are rarely forced to do in the "real world" of computer software. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 6 | There were several opportunities for online learning in lower-level undergraduate work, as well as in evening classes. The schedule became less flexible the higher you went due to decreasing class sizes. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | The University of Mississippi houses the AICPA national accounting library. Ole Miss also has a state of the art facility for the School of Accountancy, due largely to the continued support of successful alumni. |
| Social Life | 10 | A common theme for Ole Miss is "we may not win every game, but we've never lost a party." It is a very social campus with a strong Greek presence, of which I was an active member. Elite SEC athletics lead to high school spirit. |
| Placement Services | 10 | Our School of Accountancy has a 100% job placement rating. This is due to the excellent internship program matching senior undergraduates with firms in the locations students are interested in living. Most internships result in full-time offers of employment upon completion of the Masters program, so most of our graduate students have had jobs waiting for a year or more upon graduation. |
| Alumni Network | 10 | The university has excellent networking among alumni, with quarterly newsletters and annual alumni weekends. The alumni are instrumental in the hiring process for new graduates and in recruiting for their respective firms from their alma maters. |

| Would Recommend? | maybe | I would tell them the options. I would encourage them to research before they enroll, though. |
| Program Reputation | 6 | They now have more qualified instructors. Requirements have changed, so they have been forced to improve. |
| Program Quality | 5 | My school had a satisfactory program. The business program wasn't as progressive as it could have been. There were not enough advancement opportunities and teachers who really knew how to teach. |
| Instruction | 5 | The teachers were average. Some were not very good at conveying thoughts so you would understand. |
| How Difficult | 7 | The work was pretty challenging. It required much study. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | We utilized book learning in some classes. Other classes were more hands on. It depended on the course. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 6 | You could usually make your schedule with little difficulty. There were usually enough sections and courses. |
| Academic Facilities | 6 | The facilities were sufficient. There could have been more computer laboratories. |
| Social Life | 8 | Social atmosphere was great. Plenty of bonding and friendships. |
| Placement Services | 4 | Did not help me locate a job. You had to seek them out, rather than them seeking you out. |
| Alumni Network | 7 | The alumni are very supportive. They normally contribute decent sums of money. |
