"I liked the small atmosphere of the school. I also wish there were more options for classes and other things. So its a 60/40 split for me."

Would Recommend?maybeI would tell someone who is just starting to show interest about my experience. I may not however suggest they complete there whole program there.
Program Reputation5I'm rating this as average because I don't hear negative or positive things about the program. I haven't run into anyone else who was in the program with me, so I don't really know what other people think of it.
Program Quality5I went to a community college, so we didn't have top shelf professors. The majority of my learning took place on the job, so I feel like I didn't learn all I could have at school.
Instruction5Again I feel that because it was a community college they didn't have the best of everything. The professors were often overworked, and the majority of our work was just book work.
How Difficult1There was not much homework for a college course. However, the teacher did do her best to answer all questions we had.
Hands-On vs. BookishI am a hands on learner. Having to memorize things from a book without actually doing much in the way of hands on work was hard for me. My internship was where I feel I learned the most.
Schedule Flexibility7They had day, evening, & online classes available. However some classes were ONLY OFFERED during specific semesters, so if a class was full, you had to wait another year to take it.
Academic Facilities8For a small school they did have a lot of the resources listed above. The library was fabulous, including the staff. Tutors were always available, as were peer support programs.
Social Life9My experience was wonderful. I was an Americorps Student Ambassador and hosted the Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week on campus. I traveled to conferences as part of this group, up & down the east coast. I was also part of a single parent support program and they provided us with the opportunity to attend many local cultural events and trips and gave us a stipend towards the cost of our school books.
Placement Services5Once again, an overworked and underpaid staff made it hard for them to effectively deal with the needs of all the students seeking career placement. They did have a well outfitted computer lab where there was self guided programs on how to write a resume and the dos and don'ts of interviewing.
Alumni Network5I personally do not participate in any alumni functions. They did NOT offer any specific assistance in obtaining work after schooling ended.

"The school provides flexibility in scheduling. The academic advisors are extremely knowledgeable."

Would Recommend?yesThe school provides for a well rounded curriculum and offers flexibility for your individual schedule.
Program Reputation10Southern NH University is well known throughout the country for having many programs that are extremely good. I have spoken to many individuals who have attended the school and have praised it for its programs of study.
Program Quality10The professors were extremely intelligent and provided valuable information throughout my program of study. The format for the courses was easy to follow.
Instruction10The course materials were well written and easy to understand. The curriculum was provided in a clear and concise format.
How Difficult10The curriculum was challenging and I invested significant time and effort to complete my program. The assignments were intense and thought provoking.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe academic advisors provided their real life experience as a supplement to the book. Books are a good foundation, but in my experience the only way to learn is through the real life application of the topic.
Schedule Flexibility10The school offers distance education programs as well as evening and weekend classes.
Academic Facilities10The school has significant on site and online library and media resources. The school is of significant size and has many excellent academic advisors.
Social Life9I was not able to socialize much because I worked full-time and was raising a family. The school does have many social activities for students to participate in.
Placement Services5I chose average because I myself did not utilize the job placement or career services. I have not had any personal knowledge of anyone that has used these services.
Alumni Network10The school provides many avenues for students to interact with each other and many points of contacts to address issues.

"I am very satisfied with my school. I will recommend my school to others wishing to get their degrees. I am trying to get my husband to finish his degree at this school also."

Would Recommend?yesI feel that this school will show you how to become a better business person. It allows you to think outside of your comfort zone. It allows you to interact with a diverse group of people who you would not normally be able to meet. You may end up in class with someone who lives anywhere in the world and they will be able to give insight on how they actually live. This allows the students to put themselves in other situations and understand how potential clients would feel.
Program Reputation8My school is know in the New England area. It is not as well-known outside of the area. I choose it because of its military program and its willingness to deal with issues that are specific to military members. I originally learned about the school through the DANTES site when I was looking for a school to do my Master's degree.
Program Quality9I did my degree online, an option which many schools are now moving towards. It is easier for working adults to get degrees or continue their education using the online schools. It would have been difficult for me to go to an actual class since I have two small kids to take care of while going to school. I loved the variety of programs the school offered. They also had certificate programs for those people who maybe did not have the time to do a full degree program.
Instruction9I found my instructors to be knowledgeable. They answered questions promptly. Most of my instructors had actually worked in the field prior to being instructors so they could bring real work knowledge to the classroom. I feel this is the best way to get instruction at a college level. I prefer to deal with real situations rather than hypothetical instruction.
How Difficult7I did not find the coursework to be easy at all. They required the same components as the traditional in class instructors. You have mandatory times or days that you have to be in class, "homework" which is usually case studies, and the term paper at the end of the class.
Hands-On vs. BookishMy courses were usually a mix of book and hands on learning. Some classes required students to read through several chapters before completing cases based upon the techniques learned during the class. Other classes required students to first use their current knowledge to determine the solution to a problem and then collaborate with other students to see where their differences occurred.
Schedule Flexibility10I never had any problems with scheduling. Courses that were needed for my degree were always offered both during the regular school year and during the summer. I could choose when I wanted to take the classes.
Academic Facilities9I had no problems with the school facilities. As an online student this school allowed you to do all tasks online. I had access to the library and could access online books, magazines and journals, etc. without having to go to the library. Any interaction with my advisor or registrar's office could be done either by email, fax, or direct mail.
Social Life5I did not attend social events at the school since I was an online student. I did do a couple online chat sessions where students could interact with each other using Skype, but nothing at the school itself.
Placement Services6I really have not used the placement services very much. While in school I periodically received emails from the service telling students about upcoming job fairs, resume writing workshops, and networking sessions. Since I did not live in the area I did not participate in those services. When I was near finishing my degree I received an email to a job listing site. I have been on the career services site a few times but most of the jobs are either in New England or DC, and I live in Florida.
Alumni Network9I would say the alumni system is good. I was contacted within a month of graduation both my mail and email. I was told the links to my state alumni association. I also receive updates on current events occurring in my state as well as the main campus in New Hampshire.
