"I would go back to college tomorrow. I love my job and my company, but nothing beats that experience."

| Would Recommend? | yes | The school has excellent professors that get to know students on a personal basis. The majority of them live in Greenville (the city right near Clemson) and I run into them all the time. They always want to know how things are going. |
| Program Reputation | 8 | Clemson has a great Business school. We were ranked in top 20 of schools in 2008. |
| Program Quality | 8 | Great professors and clubs to participate in. I wish there was more than 1 focus presented, such as external vs internal audit and business vs personal tax. |
| Instruction | 7 | The information taught at all colleges are “perfect world scenarios.” I learned much more after being in work force. |
| How Difficult | 8 | Professors were great with helping to strike a good school/life balance. Any accounting major is going to be slightly difficult the further along you get into the program. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | Beginner classes were focused more on book learning because of the high volume of business majors that need the gen ed requirements. The higher the level of the accounting class was, the more projects and presentations were involved. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 7 | Some accounting courses (junior-senior level) were only offered once in a semester. This was a hinderance sometimes. |
| Academic Facilities | 9 | The professors were all qualified and most had teaching assistants. They also had study groups for the accounting courses which the TAs taught. |
| Social Life | 10 | Clemson is great about engaging people in the school events. Of course, it is up to the individual to attend. However, I loved the college experience and atmosphere at Clemson. All ball fields are on campus so sporting events have the school tailgating on campus. It's a lot of fun. |
| Placement Services | 9 | I found my first job in Clemson as a staff auditor through their JobLink. Although, it didn't work out for me for personal reasons, the job and process was great! |
| Alumni Network | 8 | We have meetings regularly to discuss the jobs and opportunities available for Clemson Alums. They are mainly held in downtown Greenville during happy hour. |

"USC has grown and become one the leading institutions of higher learning in the nation for Business. They provide a well-rounded education and growing experience for students."

| Would Recommend? | Yes | In the State of South Carolina, there is no place for a better accounting education. You graduate with a very well-respected and deserved degree. |
| Program Reputation | 10 | The School of Business at USC has attracted top-ranked professors and have major contributors to the school. Darla Moore has donated millions to the school and the School of Business is now named after her. |
| Program Quality | 10 | My credentials from USC allowed me to get a job within 3 months of earning my degree. I was then able within 4 months to take an even better, higher-paying job. |
| Instruction | 10 | My father was an educator and I had been around teachers and professors on a collegiate level all my life. The ones at USC are exceptional. |
| How Difficult | 8 | Back then, they were just adding the computer to the curriculum. The tests were by hand with no calculators or computers. You had to know your stuff. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | With the change to computers you have to adopt a mix of learning techniques. USC School of Business has managed to combine the two quite effectively. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 10 | Now they have classes online that allow students to work and go to school on their own time. They can take a class when they can, not just when it is offered at the college. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | With the continued donations of alumni like Darla Moore, the School of Business has improved its facilities and made computers available to all students. Professors and other students are there for anyone who needs help. |
| Social Life | 10 | USC has one of the biggest followings in sports, particular football. Their baseball team has finished #1 two years running. There's always parties and socializing going on. |
| Placement Services | 8 | USC provides interviewing processes to help all students find a job. I interviewed and was placed within 3 months of graduation. |
| Alumni Network | 9 | Even after 21 years, my alumni association still keeps in touch with me via e-mail and phone. They are very active in raising money and helping the students at the University. |

"I lived nearby and had limited financial means. Lander helped me to gain a degree and begin my accounting career. I was able to cover my tuition through grants and student loans, and I feel like I learned an average amount during my years there."

| Would Recommend? | maybe | I would recommend Lander to a local student who wanted to further their education but was unwilling to move somewhere else. I would not recommend that anyone move from out of state to attend Lander. I had many good experiences there and it was overall a positive experience. Unfortunately, my favorite professors are no longer there so I am unsure of the faculty quality. |
| Program Reputation | 5 | I think that my school has an average reputation. It is a public university that mostly attracts local students who can not afford to go to a more prestigious university. I believe that a student can get an acceptable education there but I do not feel that they excel in any specific area. |
| Program Quality | 7 | I believe that if you put in the effort you can have a good education anywhere. That said, this is a local university that provides useful classes. After a few years of experience, I realized that I could have learned much more in school than I was taught. I wish my university classes had been more challenging. |
| Instruction | 6 | The instruction quality was somewhat average in most areas. There was one particularly motivated professor who inspired my choice of major, and I believe he contributed greatly to the quality of instruction at Lander. The level of career preparation was slightly above average because we did have an opportunity to visit local businesses and I was given assistance in finding a job before graduation. |
| How Difficult | 4 | I believe the program of study is easier than it should be. Accounting can be a very involved career and I wish I had more difficult classes to help me to stand out from other job applicants. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | Lander was very traditional and very book learning-oriented. They tried to bring in variety when possible in the form of visits to local plants and speakers. We had some interactive and group projects but most courses were focused on a textbook. Accountants are often considered to be introspective and too quiet, and due to this our professors made an effort to help us learn better speaking skills. This was useful and I wish that they had done more projects of this nature. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 8 | Lander has a large population of older students who are going back to finish their degree later in life. Due to this, there are many night classes and online classes to assist in making attendance easier. |
| Academic Facilities | 5 | We did not have many specific resources for accounting and business. There was a business club at the time that I was enrolled in but it was mostly a social endeavor. The accounting professors acted as advisors and were helpful in that regard. |
| Social Life | 6 | Lander did not provide many organized activities that I was involved in, but there were a number of student-created groups on campus. There was an emphasis on Greek life and drinking, and neither of these activities were interesting to me. I appreciated that there were many areas to study and meet with other students. |
| Placement Services | 6 | The career services center was not able to help me and did not give much advice or guidance. However, one of my accounting professors recommended me for a position at a firm that became my first job after graduation. |
| Alumni Network | 1 | There is an annual homecoming which includes events I have no interest in, and other than one flyer a year for this I only receive requests for monetary contributions. I do not feel like part of the university at all anymore. |

"I was extremely satisfied with my choice of schools. My USC degree enabled me to get my 1st job with 2 months of graduating and then to move to an even better job within 6 months of taking my 1st job."

| Would Recommend? | yes | USC is a wonderful school. A bit large for some incoming freshman, but still a very grounded and accredited University. |
| Program Reputation | 10 | The Darla Moore School of Business is one of the best in the nation. It also provides areas of international business not found in other institutions. |
| Program Quality | 10 | The University of South Carolina is one of the leading Universities of higher learning in the nation. The Moore School of Business in outstanding in its field. When you tell someone you graduated from USC School of Business, you are looked at in a totally different light then if you graduated from a lesser institution. |
| Instruction | 10 | All of my professors at that time were CPA's or PhD's. Everything was done by hand, no calculators. It was an interesting and difficult time to learn accounting, but the professors did a super job. |
| How Difficult | 9 | My father was an author of accounting textbooks for 2 year colleges and the textbooks and curriculum followed at USC was way beyond those books. I found the work challenging. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | Again, it has been many years since I was in school, but then it was pretty well split 50/50 between hands-on work and books. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 9 | USC now provides for on-line classes in combination with classes on campus to better handle the needs of all students, young and old alike. |
| Academic Facilities | It has really been too long for me to comment on this area, but I know from alumni information sent that USC has one of the best facilities in the nation. | |
| Social Life | 8 | I lived off campus and was not involved much with on campus activities. I went to USC for my junior and senior years of study. |
| Placement Services | 9 | Recruiters come from all the major industries and companies in the world to recruit from USC. |
| Alumni Network | 8 | USC is always sending out flyers and e-mails to alumni to keep them up-to-date with the University. They are trying to raise funds for the school as well as get alumni to help the students currently enrolled. |
