"I think I wasted my money. I have learned far more by going to work and being mentored by my boss."

Would Recommend?noUnless it has changed, it is not worth the money.
Program Reputation5I cant answer this either. I am sure if it is on the Top Ten lists of recommended schools.
Program Quality5The curriculum that I was taught was very basic. I have learned more through on the job experience.
Instruction3I was not impressed with my instructors at all. They were very uninvolved and seemed very uninterested in anything except the end of class.
How Difficult1The bare basics were covered, no real in-depth studies were involved. One could gain the same knowledge by working with a detective or paralegal.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere was really no hands-on teaching. Everything was done from the text.
Schedule Flexibility10My schedule at work was arranged around my classes, so there was never a conflict. Classes were bi-weekly.
Academic Facilities5The standard information was there, but nothing more. I always used the University or State Bar Association for any deep research.
Social Life5I didn't have much student interaction. I was in school to learn, not make friends.
Placement Services5Again, I don't know. I have never used it.
Alumni Network5I don't know this answer because I have never used this part of the school.

"I didn't realize how little I liked about my alma mater until taking this survey."

Would Recommend?noI try to discourage people from UNLV. I don't want them to make the mistakes I did.
Program Reputation5It's in Las Vegas and no one has heard of it apart from athletics. Its academic reputation is non-existent.
Program Quality4UNLV isn't a very good school. The professors were mostly part-time in my department and that made it a difficult learning environment.
Instruction5As I said previously, the teachers weren't very good. This incompetence included the advisers.
How Difficult2All the tests were multiple choice. There was very little challenging work.
Hands-On vs. BookishI feel like it was neither. I didn't have many hands-on classes, and my books were hardly necessary in most classes.
Schedule Flexibility6I took a lot of classes online. I was able to work my schedule out to combine work and school quite easily.
Academic Facilities6The library was huge and had an extensive journal collection. However, the classrooms were small and rumored to be full of asbestos.
Social Life5I didn't take advantage of this social life at UNLV. I spent most of my time on my own.
Placement Services3Because of my overall dissatisfaction with the school as a whole, I don't put much faith in their career services department either.
Alumni Network4They started calling me for money as soon as I graduated. I haven't even paid off my student loans and don't really feel like sinking any more money into the school.

"I'm pleased that I finished my degree somewhere but I think I could have gone to a better school where I actually felt like I learned something."

Would Recommend?noIt's a cheap school but the old saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. The classes are incredibly easy, the teachers aren't approachable, and for the most part I felt like I had no support at the school.
Program Reputation3Most people look at it as a cheap school with the reputation of being a party school and for the most part they're right.
Program Quality4UNLV isn't a spectacular school by any means. The classes I took were easy and I didn't feel I learned much in the time I was there.
Instruction2The curriculum was easy and the teachers didn't challenge their students at all. The classes were a joke and one didn't really have to attend to get a good grade. My degree ended up having nothing to do with my current position.
How Difficult2I never had a problem getting better than a C average and for the most part I didn't attend class. The professors weren't very experienced.
Hands-On vs. BookishI don't recall having much hands-on experience. It was mostly reading chapters from a book and then having a test about it later in the semester. Every once in a while we would have a presentation to do but that was about it.
Schedule Flexibility5I never had trouble scheduling my classes. They had a good number of classes that were large enough so that everybody who needed to get in was able to.
Academic Facilities5UNLV has a nice library that I enjoyed spending a lot of time in. There was plenty of computers and study rooms. The classrooms were outdated and cramped. There were plenty of study groups available but the professors weren't approachable and didn't make themselves available to the students.
Social Life1I didn't participate at all in any of the school activities. I didn't even hear about any organized social events. Their sports teams weren't popular either.
Placement Services3I received no career or job placement assistance and ended up working on something completely unrelated to my major immediately after college. The counselors weren't very much help at all.
Alumni Network1I was never spoken to about any kind of alumni network after college and really wasn't involved much with the school at all.
