"I like the school a lot. The teachers were great and very personable. I felt I received a pretty good education."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | yes | Yes I would. The teachers at the school made a big impact on my... though there were some teachers I felt like didn't know what they were talking about, there were some teachers that really made what I do now click. |
| Program Reputation | 7 | I have several friends that have graduated from STI, but I do not know the current reputation of the program I choose. I am not actively involved with the school and don't really talk to people in the community to know what peoples' thoughts are about the program. |
| Program Quality | 6 | I don't know if any school can really prepare you for programming as I have learned a lot of my skills on the job. |
| Instruction | 7 | Most of the teachers, I felt, were very well qualified and made learning itself easy. There were a few teachers that I felt struggled to teach the classes which at times made it difficult to really understand the material. |
| How Difficult | 9 | Programming was very challenging. When I first started I really didn't know what a programmer really did. So I had a lot of learning to do to understand concepts of (what now are simple) loops, if statements, Cases, Methods, and functions. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | With programming, almost everything is hands on as we had to actually create and write (program) all of our assignments. This gave us optimal hands on opportunities. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 9 | There were lots of dates and times to choose from, making the schedule pretty flexible. A lot of students there worked full time so you would need to be able to have a flexible schedule. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | We had laptops that were loaded with all the software needed. They also had a tech service area to help with any computer issues you may be having. |
| Social Life | 4 | I didn't have any social events at school. I didn't even make any new friends, which was sad. A lot of my friends from my High School attended so I pretty much stuck with them. There were no parties and no organized social events that I ever went to. |
| Placement Services | 8 | I was able to apply for an internship during my last semester of school and was able to land the job full time after graduation. I don't really know how the Job Placement or the career assistance was because I was able to find a job based off my internship. |
| Alumni Network | I don't believe my school has an alumni network. At least I don't know anything about one. |
