Would Recommend?yesI feel that kids can benefit from going to Platt. They will learn a trade that will ensure them jobs in the real world and they will also meet tons of people who share their interest and passion for automobiles.
Program Reputation10My school has done much state contracted work as well as drawn in a lot of private jobs due to their exceptional reputation. Many students from all over the state compete to be accepted into the school's many programs of study.
Program Quality7The teachers provided an excellent learning environment in which to teach us their trade. It opened up many opportunities for employment after graduation.
Instruction10Both of my teachers were very well known in the industry. They were able to introduce us to new techniques and products that would help us in the future.
How Difficult6The most difficult part of my training was learning to properly diagnose the many things that can go wrong with an automobile. The teachers had great techniques that assisted us with this.
Hands-On vs. BookishWe spent 15 days at a time in the shop working on real vehicles. Our school was considered a production shop.
Schedule Flexibility1It's a Monday-Friday, standard school schedule. No weekend or night classes are available.
Academic Facilities10The school supplied top of the line tools and equipment for academic use. Even though it was a technical school, regular academics were also made mandatory and the resources were of great quality.
Social Life5I made a large group of life long friends. I attribute this to the shared interests of the majority of my peers.
Placement Services10I was placed in my first job thanks to my school. I have received other jobs since because of my references there.
Alumni Network10Since graduation I have contacted my instructors for references for employment. I have also used them when I've needed assistance on side projects of my own.
