Would Recommend?maybeI have been discouraged in this career field. Unless you enter into a corporate environment, this degree does not offer much income potential.
Program Reputation10Pittsburg State University is the best in Kansas for this program. They have a very advanced technology center.
Program Quality7There was limited hands-on experience. There was also a lot of unnecessary general education.
Instruction7They had some good, current technical classes with thorough bookwork. There was limited hands-on education.
How Difficult5Homework was not excessive. I did take some classes that required late hours.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere was very little shop time. Most of our assignments were based out of textbooks.
Schedule Flexibility5Class flexibility pretty much consisted of standard day classes. Online classes weren't available at the time, that I am aware of.
Academic Facilities8They had a specific library for the technology center. Extended hours were available to access this library.
Social LifeI did not take part in organized social events while in college. However, this is not to say that these activities were not available to the students.
Placement Services9They had good career fairs related to the field. They also had an extensive contact list available.
Alumni Network7I receive a lot of mail from the alumni association. The professors were available to guide me while I was looking for work.
