"I got a good degree as well as many certifications. I also got a job after I attended."

Would Recommend?maybeThe school is great for beginners and offers many courses. I would not go if you are a seasoned mechanic.
Program Reputation5Wyotech has lowered standards, which has lost our school a lot of outside support. It is also accused of being over priced.
Program Quality8I loved my school and I stand by my education. however, I wanted more of a challenge than Wyotech could offer.
Instruction9I learned the curriculum, but again, I wish I could have had more of a challenge. I found the school easy and wanted to learn more than the basics.
How Difficult2No challenge and easy course work. I often found I could miss classes and still ace the tests.
Hands-On vs. BookishOur school is based on book time for learning the steps, then shop time to put it to work. There are many tests every week.
Schedule Flexibility1We are not offered time off. Students can miss up to two hours of class time before having to retake the course.
Academic Facilities3Most tutors have little experience. Access to computers is at limited hours. Study groups or extra help must be arranged by students.
Social Life10Many events are offered.
Placement Services10I got constant emails and phone calls. They list job opportunities weekly.
Alumni Network8They offer help with the job search after graduation and there is strong support for alumni.

"The experience of living on my own and going to class, learning everything I did and building enough experience to get myself established with a new career at home, was fulfilling. However, the salary of an automotive technician is not enough to justify the cost of tuition."

Would Recommend?yesThe experience you get out of WyoTech is definitely equivalent to what you put into it. If you don't pay attention and do the work, then you'll be wasting your time and money. However, if you work hard, you can learn the skills required to break into a satisfying career.
Program Reputation8There are a few competitor schools in this field, along with local programs. However, WyoTech is one of the most renowned and popular schools.
Program Quality6The instructors were informative and helpful, if you were a dedicated student. However, the cost of the education was very high.
Instruction8The curriculum was detailed and informative. The instructors were helpful and would make sure the students understood what was being taught.
How Difficult9The amount of work that needs to be done almost never diminishes, there is no "free time" during a work day. It requires working overtime in many cases, and the vehicles worked on are very different, so you need to use caution when working on something unfamiliar so as not to damage anything. It is a very hard industry to get started in due to the attention to detail and difficulty of perfection a technician must achieve.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe classroom time spent reading the theories of work was helpful, especially if the subject was new to the student. However, the shop experience was good, realtime practice that allowed you to physically do and understand what was being taught.
Schedule Flexibility2The class schedules are set in stone. When there is a holiday like Thanksgiving or Labor Day, you would get the day off, but have to make it up during the weekend. If you were ever late you would get written up, and if you missed more than 3 days you failed the course and had to retake it.
Academic Facilities8The supplied tools were more than enough to get the job done, and the welders and other shop equipment were all new. Shop maintenance was done several times a week so everything stayed clean and in good condition.
Social Life7Making friends at school was very easy. There were a lot of school sanctioned events, most of which were free, and there were a lot of out of school activities to do with friends to stay busy out of the shop.
Placement Services3As stated above, part of the price for tuition is lifetime support for locating jobs. The only phone calls received involved asking if I was currently employed and where, for their records.
Alumni Network3Assistance in finding a job for life was included in the price of tuition. However, the most the school ever did was to call asking for employment information (no suggestions or help in actually finding a job).

Would Recommend?yesIf you are planning on entering the auto tech industry, there is no better place you can learn your trade than WyoTech. They will not only give you a great education, but they will help you get a job in the industry upon graduation.
Program Reputation10WyoTech continues to be the high standard in auto tech training. They are held in high regard throughout the United States as the very best in auto tech.
Program Quality10WyoTech is the best school for hands-on technical training, and not just in automotive tech; they also offer great diesel and marine tech programs. WyoTech taught me everything I need to know to be successful in the industry.
Instruction10I have yet to come across a situation in my field I have not been trained in. The instructors are true professionals.
How Difficult8You're crammed with a lot of information in a small amount of time. The classes move fast and you have to keep up to succeed.
Hands-On vs. BookishAfter a quick overview in the classroom, you spend the remainder in the shop, being very hands on. Given the industry we're working on entering, hands-on experience is the key to success.
Schedule Flexibility7WyoTech offers summer classes and an evening course. There are 8 different campuses in the U.S.
Academic Facilities10Their classrooms provided every tool you would ever need in the industry. The space provided is more than enough, and accessibility to the instructors is granted immediately upon request.
Social Life6Everyone is kind of absorbed in their own work, so besides the people in your class, there's not much of a social network. WyoTech does take students to different events if they're interested, such as whitewater rafting and hiking trips.
Placement Services8Though we are in an economic downfall, I found a job fairly quickly upon graduation. WyoTech also helps graduates find industry jobs before graduation.
Alumni Network10WyoTech alumni have made quite an impact in the states. NASCAR has several mechanics from WyoTech, and many work for state departments, such as the Department of Transportation.
