"As I've continued to state, with a community college you get what you pay for. Some have used it as a stepping stone to Loyola or other universities; I got what I needed."

| Would Recommend? | maybe | After explaining the pro's and con's of this school I would recommend it to someone looking for an Associate's or a certificate. It's a budget friendly school but is lacking in aspects. |
| Program Reputation | 3 | The school in general doesn't have a great reputation. But in the end you get what you pay for with a community college. |
| Program Quality | 5 | Truman College was adequate to get me the degree I desired. I got along with the professors and students. |
| Instruction | 6 | With regard to career prep, I had already done entry/intermediate level bookkeeping and accounting but I wanted to further it with a degree. The curriculum was focused on Accounting. |
| How Difficult | 6 | Having experience in the field, I did not feel overly burdened by most classes. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | I would have to describe it as very book learning with regard to my accounting classes. I guess if you were to seek out a tutor you could perhaps call that more hands on. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 7 | I found it very adequate for my schedule and there seems to be flexibility with classes and many different courses are offered. |
| Academic Facilities | 3 | Facilities could definitely be cleaner and nicer. Staff members in general were rude. I experienced computer problems the few times I had access to them. |
| Social Life | 7 | I have made friends with some of the other students. I can't say they build up a huge amount of school spirit, but there is great diversity in the students who attend the college and diversity is why I'm in Chicago. |
| Placement Services | 5 | I already was employed. |
| Alumni Network | 3 | I think once everyone is done with this school - it's community college - they are fairly eager to cut ties. |

"I am sorry that they were merged into another school. Other than that, I was very pleased with the books and the teacher availability. They were always prompt in returning graded lessons."

| Would Recommend? | maybe | I would recommend correspondence or online training to anyone who is disciplined enough to pursue and FINISH a course. For those who can't self motivate, it would probably be difficult. |
| Program Reputation | 8 | The new school that took over does not have as good a reputation for their graduates. I don't even remember their name!! |
| Program Quality | 10 | I learned everything from start to finish in the accounting field. I have always been in demand with my degree, even in bad economic times. I had very good teachers who gave very good coursework. |
| Instruction | 10 | The teachers were very professional and graded fairly. They encouraged open thinking. The books were very good from Principles of Accounting to Controllership and coaching for the CPA exam. |
| How Difficult | 9 | I had to study and had lots of exams. The courses were very intensive and the exams covered all the basics of accounting. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | The school provided all materials, which led me to quickly get a job on my own to get hands on learning. The books and lessons and tests were very hands on by providing many hands on type problems. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 10 | It was extremely flexible, because it was a correspondence course. I had as long as I needed to finish lessons. |
| Academic Facilities | 5 | The professors were always available by phone or mail back in the olden days when there was no fax, internet, etc! Tutors were available locally. |
| Social Life | This does not apply, since it was correspondence. | |
| Placement Services | 1 | Their was no help with job placement. Their was no career assistance. |
| Alumni Network | 5 | After I graduated, they merged with another school, and lost all my records! So I didn't keep in touch with any alumni. |
