"This was a great school for my major. The class sizes were small and the curriculum was challenging."

Would Recommend?maybeThe degree I have was not for administrative assistants. My job only required that I have some kind of associate's degree. For a science degree, this was a great school to attend.
Program Reputation9This school is known for its curriculum relating to agriculture and science. It has a great reputation for any fields relating to these.
Program Quality9This school had a great science program. The classes were challenging and educational.
Instruction9The professors were all very knowledgeable about their subjects. They were also very helpful if I had questions.
How Difficult8The difficulty was on the level of a larger university. The classes were very challenging.
Hands-On vs. BookishThis school placed more emphasis in hands-on learning for most of the science classes. Reading was done at home, and mostly we did labs at school.
Schedule Flexibility3There was not much class flexibility since the school was so small. There were a few evening classes, and quite a few summer ones, but hardly any online courses available.
Academic Facilities9The facilities were mostly new and everything that I needed was readily available for my studies. The labs were all spacious and well-equipped.
Social Life6I was not involved in social events, but there was an opportunity for those who were inclined to participate in most of these things.
Placement Services6I was not contacted about these after graduation. However, I know that these services were available for those who needed help.
Alumni Network5I did not have much contact with these groups. They seemed to be about the average for a school this small.

"School was overall a great experience for me. My professors were always willing to work with me and FOR me. I can call any of them to this day and they will still help me with whatever problem I may be encountering."

Would Recommend?yesWhile I did not attain my degree in the field I am working in, I would still recommend Bacone to ANYONE interested in attending school. This is especially true for anyone who comes from a smaller school. Bacone's size eased the transition for me from high school to college and their student support services are second to none. Anyone who is interested in attending college and getting a degree would benefit from visiting Bacone.
Program Reputation7Bacone is outstanding for early childhood education. My degree program would allow me to obtain an alternative teaching certificate for kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. So as far as the program for which I attended goes, they do rather well!
Program Quality5My degree program helped tremendously in terms of computer training and comprehension. It was also very effective for communication skills. The only part it didn't cover effectively is business, but in the school's defense, that wasn't exactly my career plan either.
Instruction10Since Bacone was a smaller school, one on one time with instructors was almost unlimited. I had full access to my professors and they were all extremely helpful with whatever questions I had.
How Difficult5My guess is that any school that is not division one (or on the brink of being a junior college such as Bacone) would not have as difficult a degree program as one that is. I was pushed to do the very best I could, however, and was given all necessary instruction to help me get to where I needed to be.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere were countless discussions on becoming lifetime learners and being always open minded to new ideas. We worked in groups and individually. The best learning was by doing and Dr. Thomason in particular was very into kinesthetic learning, so his class was geared that way, but other classes (mostly the gen ed requirements) had much more "book" learning.
Schedule Flexibility10In order to graduate, my advisor taught two classes to me by arrangement only. The school was flexible enough to allow him to teach the classes to me in this way and still grant me full credit for them.
Academic Facilities5Bacone had a full computer lab, wifi in the dorms, and various other computers around campus available for use. The library was quite extensive as well, boasting a two story facility and also a media area.
Social Life6There were TONS of activities set up by the school's activities director, Colleen. She had weekly bowling trips and the setup she made for the "warrior hangout" had vending machines, pool tables, gaming consoles, and so much more. They were very accommodating in regards to helping each student attain the "college experience."
Placement Services8Almost every senior that walked across the stage on graduation day already had a job somewhere. Most of the students I graduated with were education majors, so where they had completed student teaching, they would retain that position.
Alumni Network3The alumni, in my opinion, could have done more at least in terms of donating to the school. Tuition was raised 3 times in the four years I attended. I think they could have made it a little easier on us by promoting new and existing scholarships.

"The transition to college was easy for my here due to the smaller size of the institution. The instructors and advisors were very hands on. My entire college experience was everything that it should have been!"

Would Recommend?maybeI didn't exactly get my degree in the field in which I currently work. In fairness to Bacone, I would recommend them to anyone that asked me about my experience given that their degree program was offered. I might add that the only downfall of the school is the cost. It was just a little high - but they made student loans easy to understand and helped out whenever they could.
Program Reputation5It's not a D1 school so it just doesn't carry the curriculum that a larger school would. The business law class was definitely helpful for the career path I have chosen. The professor was a local lawyer and he was extremely knowledgeable with respect to workplace law.
Program Quality6Bacone is a great school. It is small and an easy transition from high school to college. It was great for my major and all the professors were willing to work with me, however the curriculum was probably less than difficult!
Instruction10Maybe it's just how the teachers felt about their jobs, but they were always so available and willing to help. My advisor also taught several of my classes and was very informative and supportive in both respects.
How Difficult6As I stated earlier, the level of difficulty at Bacone is not that of The University of Oklahoma, given that it is a much smaller school. I believe that I was slightly challenged and introduced to many new ideas and given the tools to become a lifetime learner.
Hands-On vs. BookishThey were really into different learning styles at Bacone. During our freshmen orientation class we took inventory of our particular learning styles and based on the results, the professors would direct the classroom instruction to our learning styles.
Schedule Flexibility10My Junior year, I was taught 2 classes by arrangement from my advisor so that I could graduate in 4 years. If that isn't flexibility I don't know what is. He saved me an entire extra summer and fall semester.
Academic Facilities7Bacone had computer labs and a complete media center in the library. There were also many technical areas set up around campus and in all the dorm areas. Faculty support was above and beyond. The instructors were always available and willing to work with me. There were student tutors available if needed and study groups 4 days a week in the library. We didn't have it on Wednesdays due to church. Bacone is an American Baptist affiliated school.
Social Life7There was plenty to do and our school's activities director was always ready to go. There was bowling each week and the student recreation lounge had pool tables, board games, cards, TV's, a media center, and lounging/studying areas. There were trips planned to the school's athletic and other events. There was never a lack of something to go do!
Placement Services7Most of the students I graduated with already had jobs due to the job placement programs at Bacone. These programs were generally delegated to the respected degree programs but no matter what instructor I asked for help (with anything) they were always willing to bend over backwards to help me out.
Alumni Network2Bacone's alumni could definitely do more to help the school. There were a very limited number of donors to our school, and most of what was given went to the athletic program.
